Texas Corporation Foreign Registration
The registration of your Corporation is a filing done with the Secretary of State to formally and legally list your company to do business in Texas while having it still linked to your business in it’s home (domestic) state. There are many reasons to register a business in Texas, but the most common examples are having employees that reside in Texas or the business coming to Texas to conduct some type of business within the border of the state itself.
To register a Corporation in Texas you will need a few things:
- The home state and company start date in it’s home state
- Suffix: A name ending with Corporation , Incorporated , Company , Corp. , Corp , Inc. , Inc , Co. , Co , Limited , Ltd. , Ltd
- A Registered Agent that is located within Texas. A company cannot be its own Registered Agent
- A principal address, which can be anywhere
- One or more Directors. A Director must be a natural person
- A business purpose, which can be generic
- Additional provisions (if desired)
